Environment Agency - Supply and Fit-Out of Two Air Quality Monitoring Trailers

The Environment Agency retains a capability to deploy air quality monitoring instruments in communities that might be affected by emissions from large fires or industrial accidents. Part of the current capability includes two mobile laboratories, which are custom-fitted Ford Transit box vans. The aim of this contract is to replace these mobile laboratories. We are looking for a suitable company to purchase and convert two double-axle trailers into mobile laboratories. The trailers need to have a minimum ceiling height of 1970mm, be of weatherproof and sturdy construction and also able to be made secure if left unattended overnight. The successful company will be required to make all necessary modifications to the trailer and its enclosure and to install our existing mobile laboratory equipment, which they will be required to remove from our current vehicles. The trailers will also need to accommodate two members of staff who will be required to work within each unit at any one time. The newly configured trailers must be ready for operation with effect from 1st April 2017. Further information on our requirements can be found in the attached 'Supplementary Information' document.
