Tender description

The HEA, on behalf of the project co-sponsors, is now seeking tenders to conduct Irish Survey of Student Engagements for a three-year period starting in 2017. A collaborative management and governance structure is in place with institutional representatives participating in a number of project working groups. It is expected that the successful tenderer will interact primarily with individual institutions for receipt of demographic data, delivery of survey access to target cohorts, and provision of survey results after national fieldwork has concluded; and with the central project manager for other matters, including the national datasets. After the first year of the new contract, this structure may be reviewed. Any revised structure that may be put in place will not be more onerous for the contractor. The Higher Education Authority (HEA), on behalf of the project co-sponsors, is now seeking tenders to conduct the next Irish Survey of Students Engagements for a three-year period starting in 2017. From 2014 to 2016 an online census survey was undertaken with invitations issued to all first and final year undergraduate students, and to taught postgraduate students, in thirty participating higher education institutions. In 2016, the target population was c. 131 000 students and 29,173 students responded, representing a national response rate of 22.2 %. It is expected that the response rate will continue to increase on an annual basis and that effective, accessible delivery of survey questions to target cohorts will support continued improvements to the response rates for individual institutions.
