Tender description

Assistant Chief of Defence Staff (ACDS (Log Ops)) has tasked Dstl to deliver a programmatic approach to realising the Defence Support Network (DSN ) of 2035 and beyond — the title of this Programme is: The Logistics Development Agenda (LDA). MOD wish to challenge the existing system, procedure and process for delivering logistics with the aim of realising a future with no (perceived) logistics footprint or drag with forces having access to what they need, when they need it. One way in which this may be achieved is through a DSN as envisaged above, but equally there may be a number of other innovative solutions. Senior Defence Boards have agreed the need for the MOD to become more innovative in its thinking and approaches. It is recognised that there is a need to tap into the wider (non-MOD) innovation community to inform development activities. The LDA provides a framework for a range of ACDS (Log Ops) sponsored activities designed to deliver an intellectual examination of those logistic capabilities (people, processes & tools) that combine to deliver a DSN capable of supporting forces now and in the Future Operating Environment to 2035. LDA is to provide a mechanism from which innovation and creativity can flow in order to advance the thinking of how the DSN will ensure operational effectiveness of current and future forces. The objective is to facilitate by innovative and creative means the ways and means to realising the DSN.
