Network Rail Infrastructure is looking for interested suppliers to contact us in relation to a unique opportunity to reduce energy consumption, while assisting the UK electricity network with its demand and sustainability targets through reducing energy use is minimised. Network Rail wishes to establish a central framework arrangement to assist individual business units (Routes) in achieving energy and carbon targets by identifying, planning and delivering a broad range of energy efficiency measures to our non-traction portfolio. In order to achieve the objective, we intend to initially deliver a trial concept at up to ten UK locations having a combined electricity consumption of 5 766 563 kWh per year (Based on 2015/16 consumption). The Energy Initiatives to be offered should include (but not limited to): 1. Energy opportunity Surveys a. Occupancy b. Type of building c. Location d. Types and use of utilities 2. Metering 3. BMS — Optimisation 4. Lighting — Fittings and controls 5. HVAC — Fittings and controls a. Boilers b. Pumps 6. Equipment controls 7. Building envelope — Insulation 8. Voltage optimisation 9. Renewable technologies In order to realise these initiatives, the qualified partner(s) will provide a menu of funding options to Network Rail to enable business units to select the most appropriate delivery mechanism for their needs. These should include (but are not limited to): 1. Traditional business case investment 2. Gain-share proposals 3. Energy performance contracting.
