The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is the national organisation that sets the standard for high-quality health and social care. We support health and social care professionals to ensure that the care they provide is of the highest quality and offers the best value for money. We produce authoritative, evidence-based guidance on the most effective ways to diagnose, treat and prevent disease and ill health, and we set Quality Standards which can be used to drive quality improvement in a particular area of care. We also provide Evidence Search, a search portal that gives access to a collection of selected and authoritative advice and evidence in health, social care and public health. NICE requires the provision of services to enable users to take citations (typically from searches against abstracting and indexing database) and direct users to 3rd party publisher content they are eligible to access. The service: — Is to be used by institutions across health and social care at a national, consortia and local level; — Must be capable of resolving to online and physical content. It is expected the service will be split into the following areas of functionality: — a Knowledge base; — a Knowledge base search; — a Citation Link resolver; — a URL redirector. NICE is hosting an engagement day to inform organisations on the subject of the requirement and specification for the tender.
