Tender description

Term Service Contract for delivery of highways related construction, maintenance and associated works as required by a local highways authority. The term service contract Provider will be required to manage the delivery of works and the required supply chain covering a wide range of technical skills. The full potential scope is detailed within the contract specification but will include small to large civil and Highways works as delivered by a local Highways authority. The contract will be a ‘top-up’ provision to the works delivered by the Councils in-house Highways works service. The mechanism for allocation of the works programme between the Contractor and the Council's Highways Service is detailed within the procurement documents. A partnering culture between the Provider and the Dorset Highways Service will be a critical element of the delivery of this contract. The contract specification and tender evaluation have a significant focus on this. The estimated value of the contract will range between 100 000 000 GBP and 500 000 000 GBP. This value range is based on the minimum of forecast budget to be allocated by the Council and potential grant funding that could be gained by the Council. In previous years the allocated budget spent on this type of contract has been between 10 000 000 GBP and 15 000 000 GBP per year. This spend has been increased by Grant funding gained from central government schemes and the Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (DLEP).
