Summary of the work The Department requires a new correspondence management system to replace an existing system. A user researcher is required to capture and baseline the user requirements. Specialist role User researcher Expected Contract Length 5 days Latest start date 19 September 2016 Maximum Day Rate Up to £500 a day Early Market Engagement High Level functional specification produced Who Speclialist Work With The Project Delivery Team What Specialists Work On The development of a solution for ministerial correspondence within DCMS. Identifying and researching user needs. Benchmarking these needs, producing user stories with clear acceptance criteria in a comprehensive report Skills & Experience • In-depth understanding of user-centered design principles and tools • Excellent written and verbal communication • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously • Experience working directly with Design, Software, Content and Product team members • Experience in IT, knowledge of Google Services framework. • Have a mix of hands on experience and/or degree in the relevant field. I.e. Degrees in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, design research or similar. • Full understanding and demonstrable experience in User Centred Design (UCD) product development. • Full understanding and demonstrable experience of research methodologies. Qualitative: RITE, usability testing, and contextual enquiry. Quantitative: usability metrics • Full understanding and demonstrable experience in indirect data collection techniques such as web traffic analytics. • Experience in delivering insights in a scrum team of cross-disciplinary team members using Lean UX techniques. • Ability to work with users and stakeholders at all levels. • Experience in mentoring and coaching those new to user research/user experience. Nice to Haves • Degree in HCI/Usability/Cognitive Psychology or related field • 1 years experience of user research within Government • 5 years experience as a user researcher Work Location 100 Parliament Street, London SW1A 2BQ Working Arrangments Based in 100 Parliament street, London. The expected contract length is stated as 5 days, is this correct as the project looks like it would take longer than this? We have recommended the standard period of 5 days based on the the size and scale of team to capture and report on the user needs requirements. However we have included a contingency for a additional days if required.
