Energy Efficiency Project for Street Lighting in Residential Areas

The Authority is carrying out Phase 2 of its energy efficiency programme by replacing high pressure sodium lanterns on conventional gear in residential areas with LED. This will reduce carbon emissions, costs, and assist in the Authority’s commitment to reduce carbon emissions by 25% between 2010 and 2018. Two Contracts are being procured within this opportunity: Lot 1 - Supply Lot 2 - Installation The Authority will be looking at making cost savings as soon as possible after the award of the contract; with this in mind all materials will be required within four months. The Installation of the scheme is also required as part of this procurement process where part orders will be accepted up to the required quantities and agreed timescale. The Contract for Supply is to supply materials to a nominated depot to be agreed with the Authority and the successful Installation Contractor and will consist of replacing older lanterns with Light Emitting Diode (LED) lanterns. These Lanterns must be capable of either post top or side entry fixing and will be supplied with cable suitable for the lantern provided and mounted on a 6m column. With the requirement to complete this project as soon as possible to achieve maximum savings, the successful Supplier will be expected to work collaboratively with the successful Installation Contractor, to ensure that delivery is made promptly and to programme.
