Tender description

This OJEU is being conducted under Negotiated Procedure with prior call for competition under the Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016. DLRL is seeking to let a contract for the operation and maintenance of the Emirates Air Line. It is anticipated that the contract duration would be a minimum of 5 years, with specified short term extension options. The role of the contract will be to deliver a safe, efficient cable car service maintaining the highest levels of availability and operational effectiveness. The successful operator will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of the cable car system, its supporting infrastructure and passenger terminals, which includes customer service and revenue generation and protection. In addition, DLRL will be entering into a separate contract for the maintenance of the cableway system with the original equipment manufacturer. This separate maintenance contract will be novated to be a sub-contract of the successful contractor. The operation and maintenance contract will also include provision for the sub-contract to be novated back to DLRL in the event of termination. Details of the separate contract will be supplied during the tender period.
