1469/302/EML/COM/16 Machine Tool for Advanced Machining of Composites The University of Sheffield wishes to invite tenders for the supply of equipment for use within the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre's Composites Machining Group at Catcliffe in Rotherham. Scope of Requirement: Supply, installation and commissioning of a high accuracy machine tool suitable for both wet and dry CNC rotary 5-axis machining of composite and metallic materials as well as advanced high-rate material removal methods, including, but not limited to, ultrasonic assisted and sub-0 machining. The equipment should have adequate robustness, high precision and repeatability to facilitate the manufacture of high performance aerospace, automotive and similar parts with demanding tolerance requirements. The equipment should allow machining with high pressure coolant and dry cutting. Tender Process and Documentation: This is a E.U. open exercise.
