Prison Food Benchmarking

Tender description

The contractor's scope of work is to (1) compare the prices the authority is to pay for food products to be supplied to prisons (pursuant to a contract to be awarded by the authority) with the data the contractor holds as to the market cost of those food products or food products within the same categories and (2) using this comparative data, track changes in the market price of those food products or categories, review proposed changes in the prices to be paid by the authority and produce reports as requested by the authority. Full details of the scope of work will be set out in the specification. The value of the contract is estimated to be 40 000 GBP per annum. On that basis, the estimated value of the contract is 160 000 GBP over the minimum term of 4 years and 360 000 GBP over the maximum term of 9 years. The anticipated term of the contract will be 4 years from service commencement date with the option to extend (in accordance with the terms of the contract and at the authority's discretion) for: (a) a period of 1 year (i.e. 4 + 1); or (b) a period of 2 years (i.e. 4 + 2); or (c) a period of 2 years and a subsequent period of 1 year (4 + 2 + 1); or (d) 2 periods of 2 years (4 + 2 + 2); or (e) 2 periods of 2 years and a subsequent period of 1 year (4 + 2 + 2 + 1).
