Tender description

Herefordshire Council is seeking to engage a supplier to supply and install office and car park lighting. The Council envisages that this work will commence during Autumn 2016 with a view to finalising the installation of the lighting by February 2017. The office and car park lighting will contribute towards Herefordshire Council's cost and carbon saving initiatives, in particular, Herefordshire's compliance with the UK Climate Change Act (2008) to reduce overall emissions by 80 % by 2050. The appointed provider will be responsible for supply and installation of lighting together with controls and innovative energy saving solutions on 3 sites: 1. Plough Lane offices; 2. Maylord Orchard underground car park; 3. Garrick Street multi-storey car park. Key Objectives: Objective 1: Provide high quality lighting on 3 sites. Objective 2: To reduce lighting energy costs and carbon emissions on the 4 sites by use of efficient lighting solutions. The Council is interested in proposals which incorporate motion and day light sensors across all 3 sites. Objective 3: Lighting for all 3 sites should be within the recommended levels for the building type. However, in respect of the office site, the Council is keen to keep the lux level below 600 lux.
