7524 Business Process Mapping of Historic England Information

Tender description

This Brief is for a project about historic environment investigation information generated, shared and stored by Historic England. The project will identify, document and model the most commonly used information items, processes and data flows within Historic England, along with the key parts of the organisation that are, or need to be, involved in those processes. Building on the recommendations of an earlier1 report on mapping historic environment data externally, this project will examine in detail the creation, use, and management of all historic environment data generated by Historic England teams and how that flows to the national dataset (National Heritage Record of the Historic Environment or NRHE) currently held in a database called AMIE and subsequently to local Historic Environment Records (HERs). The work forms part of the Heritage Information Access Strategy (HIAS)2 programme, Phase 3.
