Summary of the work We're a new, government funded startup looking for a Head of Design to oversee the development of all of our user-facing products and services. We're a small team, so the successful candidate will be comfortable with graphic and UI design, and be able to set the design of the organisation. Specialist role Designer Expected Contract Length Four months, with possible extension. Latest start date 01/09/2016 Who Speclialist Work With Product Manager, User Researcher, Developer, Service Manager and a few other specialist policy roles. What Specialists Work On Responsible for defining the design principles of the organisation. Responsible for the design of our user-facing services, from our website, our online services (such as a journal platform) through to our membership welcome pack and the look and feel of our events. Skills & Experience • Understanding and use of fundamental design principles • Understands web standards, limitations, opportunities, best practices, and trends • Create designs that are simple, elegant, interactive, while achieving the goals of the project • Proficient with Adobe creative suite, sketching, prototyping, and wireframing • Proven ability to manage time and composure while working on multiple projects • A meticulous attention to detail with all aspects of work Nice to Haves • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS • Articulate process and design details to internal teams and key stakeholders Work Location Euston, London Working Arrangments Onsite at least four days a week, possible to work from home one day. No. It's a hands-on role with responsibility for the design direction, but most of your time will be spent designing and feeding this into the product development work.
