Tender description

Crossrail 2 is a proposed new railway planned to connect the National Rail networks in Surrey and Hertfordshire via new tunnels and stations between Wimbledon, Tottenham Hale and New Southgate, linking in with London Underground, London Overground, Crossrail 1, national and international rail services. It would add capacity to the regional rail network, cutting journey times across the South East. It would also support economic regeneration by providing the infrastructure needed to support 200 000 new homes and 200 000 new jobs. Transport for London will be hosting an Industry Event to raise the market's awareness of Crossrail 2. This event will provide an insight into the long and short term plans for the project, to enable consultants, construction companies and other suppliers to consider how they might participate. The Industry Event will include an overview of Crossrail 2's objectives, challenges and current priorities. The project team will describe its plans for the development phase and the ‘One Railway’ philosophy shared with Network Rail. The project team will highlight the procurement activity planned to enable the preparation of an Hybrid Bill for 2019, and its thinking with regard to engaging the supply chain in the development of the Delivery Strategy for this c. 30 000 000 000 GBP project. The award of new contracts for the next stage of design development is subject to approval of the strategic outline business case in early 2017. Further information about Crossrail 2 can be found here: http://crossrail2.co.uk Transport for London will be hosting the Industry Event on Wednesday, 14.9.2016 from 8:30-13:00 at its premises in London. Suppliers are invited to register their interest via email to: supplychainintelligence@tfl.gov.uk marked for the attention of Arvinder Birdi, responding no later than midday on 15.8.2016. Suppliers should provide their full company name, company registration number and key contact details accompanied by a short description (no more than 100 words) of their company's capabilities in regards to the scope. This will be used by Transport for London for event planning purposes. Confirmation of your attendance to the Industry Day is at Transport for London's discretion due to venue capacity constraints. Expression of interest to this PIN will not guarantee attendance to the Industry Day due to venue capacity constraints. TfL will manage invitation and event registration process — formal invitations will be issued no later than 1.9.2016. For those that expressed an interest and are unable to attend, information from the Industry Day will be provided (by email) following the event to ensure a fair process is followed. Transport for London will manage this process in an open and transparent manner to maximise the possible benefits. Attendance or non-attendance to this Industry Day will not preclude or disadvantage/advantage any suppliers' ability to participate in any future procurement activity. Direct or indirect canvassing of any Transport for London employee or agent by any supplier concerning this requirement, or any attempt to procure information from any TfL employee or agent concerning this PIN outside of the formal process described in this document may result in the disqualification of the supplier from consideration of any future procurement activity. No information contained in this document or in any communication made between Transport for London and any supplier in connection with this shall be relied upon as constituting a contract, agreement or representation that any contract shall be offered in accordance with this PIN.
