his project objectives are arranged into 4 themes that are outlined below: [1] Monitoring and mapping the global distribution of FMDV strains, [2] Exploit next-generation sequencing approaches to increase our capacity to process the large number of samples that might be received for analysis during a future FMD outbreak, [3] Development and application of phylodynamic tools to resolve the demography of FMDV [4] Develop tools to predict antigenic phenotypes from FMDV capsid sequence data
