Tender description

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Authority require the provision of Driver Training Services for Bluelight Emergency Driver Response Training including Co-Responder Driver Training and Assessments and Large Goods Vehicle. Initial Training and Trailer Training to be delivered throughout the Wiltshire, Swindon and Dorset areas. The contract will be divided into 4 Lots at the Formal Invitation to Tender Stage of the procurement process, the shortlisted qualified providers only will be invited to tender. Bidders will be able to bid for more than 1 lot. The Contract is for a period of 3 years, with an option for the Authority to extend this for a further 12 months. Lot 1 — This will cover the Wiltshire and Swindon Areas/Locations. The successful contractor must be able to provide a fully qualified Driving Instructor or Instructors, who have practical experience of driving emergency vehicles in an emergency situation. They need to comply with all legal requirements, other relevant legalisation and regulations, relating to the Services. The successful contractor will need to have an understanding of the Police Driving Standards, Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA), Code of Practice/Emergency Response Driving 2008 and a thorough knowledge of ‘Road Craft’, the Police Drivers Handbook. Lot 2 — This will cover the Dorset Areas/Locations. The successful contractor must be able to provide a fully qualified Driving Instructor or Instructors who have practical experience of driving emergency vehicles in an emergency situation. They need to comply with all legal requirements, other relevant legalisation and regulations, relating to the Services.
