Removal of Dead Bodies on Behalf of HM Coroner Blackpool & Fylde District

Tender description

Blackpool Council is seeking contractors to tender for the contract for the Removal of Bodies on behalf of the HM Coroner within the Blackpool & Fylde District. The Local Authority has the responsibility to provide appropriate, timely and robust arrangements for the collection of a deceased when the death has been referred to the HM Coroner for investigation. The deceased will be transferred to Blackpool Victoria Hospital, Whinney Heys Road, Blackpool FY3 8NR. The Contractor is required to provide an efficient, sensitive collection and transportation service in a consistent manner at all times both day and night. There may be exceptional circumstances where bodies are to be taken to other destinations. Blackpool Council has split this Contract into 2 Lots (as detailed below) and Contractors are invited to bid for one or both Lots. • Lot 1 – collection of bodies within Blackpool area • Lot 2 – collection of bodies within Fylde area The Authority will appoint a single contractor for each Lot.
