Business support for SMEs specifically in relation to the opportunities offered by the construction of Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Station. This Notice is to inform Economic Operators that Somerset County Council, as accountable body for the Heart of the South West and West of England Local Enterprise Partnership, will hold a supplier engagement event prior to commencing the procurement exercise. The event will detail the Hinkley Point C Project and the opportunities for SMEs in the South-West to access the supply chain of this 10-year 20 000 000 000 GBP infrastructure project, which includes non-nuclear island associated developments and site services. . The procurement process will be outlined. Note — slides and summary notes of the event session will be made available to all economic operators, none of whom will be advantaged or disadvantaged from participation in the intended procurement process if they are unable to attend this event. SCC intends to publish an OJEU Contract Notice to commence the procurement exercise — the choice of procedure will be further described at the time of the notice, an indicative date is given at II.3). — Purpose — To deliver an SME business support programme to enable SME's within the 2 LEP regions to access opportunities to be part of the HPC Supply Chain. — Duration — up to 3 years (36 months). There may be extension options dependant on funding sources and contract performance. — Value — the indicative value of the contract is given as 2 000 000 GBP. Note — at the time of publishing this notice the funding contribution from the 2 LEPs is in the region of 1 000 000 GBP. Further funding contributions may be realised from other authorities that this contract will be available to. It will be desirable for any contractor to demonstrate the additional leverage, in terms of private sector contributions they can bring to the Contract.
