Asbestos Removal and Encapsulation Programme for School and Non-Schools Sites – Summer 2016

Tender description

We are currently undertaking a programme of Asbestos removal and encapsulation works across a number of KMBC school and Non-School sites as identified and recommended within our most recent Asbestos Management reports. We require your best cost summary based upon the following Minimum requirements: • Removal of thermal insulation residues as far as reasonably practicable prior to encapsulation of surfaces. • All works to take place under fully controlled conditions. (Fully identified and signed off under your own RAMS, Plans of work, etc) • All general principles must be fully in line with KMBC, current “Contractors codes of practices”. • All required Smoke testing to be witnessed by independent person (TBC) • A visual inspection of all surfaces to take place, prior to any encapsulation using ET150 taking place. • Encapsulation is to be applied in two coats with sufficient drying time between each coat. • 4 stage clearance to be completed prior to deconstruction of the enclosure. • Evidence of leak air monitoring and personal air sampling is to be shown by the contractor. • RAMS and notification to be submitted to Knowsley Council no later than two weeks before commencement date on site. • Air monitoring is to be included in your quote but must be as a separate schedule to the remedial quote. • Submission of all relevant and appropriate documentation for the works to be undertaken both prior to and on completion which shall typically include: HSE notifications (ASB5), Plans of work, clearance documentation, waste transfer and consignment notes, etc. • For minor asbestos remedial works suitable RAMS will be provided for the work to be carried out and where no air monitoring or clearance is required before and after photographs shall be provided as evidence that work has been carried out and completed.
