Highways England has a requirement for a Bound Pavement Materials Framework. Over the Roads Investment Strategy period the investment in pavements is circa 3 000 000 000 GBP, approximately 27 % of the total, and we anticipate resurfacing over 3 440 miles of the Strategic Road Network. The Bound Pavement Materials Framework will be primarily related to the provision, delivery, laying and recycling of bound pavement materials for base, binder course and surface course in accordance with the 700 and 900 series of the Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works Volume 1: Specification For Highway Works, as well as principle contractor/design services to support: — Renewal of roads programme; — Complex infrastructure programme; — Smart motorways programme; and — Regional investment programme. The anticipated contract length will be 4 years and is expected to be divided into Lots. It is expected to have a regional approach with different lot structures. We will be holding a supplier day on the 11th February in Birmingham, further details will be made available to all companies who register their interest. The purpose of the event is to provide all potential suppliers with an overview of the proposed structure of the new arrangement and to gain views on the challenges in implementing the replacement contracts and to test the principles and workability of the future contract arrangements. Suppliers are welcomed from across the Industry, SME's as well as larger National suppliers — we are hoping to receive interest from all suppliers who can provide the services and goods as described above.
