Essex County Council (ECC) are preparing for the re-commissioning of our Semi Independent Accommodation (SIA) to support and improve outcomes for the young people of Essex. ECC have been listening carefully to the challenges providers face regarding the sourcing of adequate provision and want to tackle that as part of the recommissioning process, particularly with a view to ensuring we can place more young people closer to home in Essex. With the current spend on SIA in the region of GBP 2 000 000 per annum, our recommissioning focus will be primarily on improving outcomes for young people but as with all Local Authorities we will also be identifying efficiencies. ECC are keen to hear from experienced providers that can work with us to develop high quality SIA provision within the county of Essex for the benefit of young care leavers in Essex. We are particularly keen to hear from providers who can deliver: a) suitable semi-independent accommodation; b) care support to the young people in SIA, and c) both accommodation and care support.
