Tender description
Supply of a new Combined Heat & Power Unit & Installation & Maintenance of this unit at Active Ennis Leisure Complex Clare County Council is playing an active role in reducing its energy consumption, and therefore its carbon footprint. One of the buildings that will contribute to an improved energy performance is the Active Ennis Leisure Complex. The centre is presently heated by two gas boilers via heat exchangers to pool water, and low pressure hot water (lphw) emitters. The Air Handling Units (AHU’s) are presently heated by direct gas fired units. It is proposed to replace the direct gas fired unit in AHU 1 (Main Pool Hall) with a 300 kW, low pressure hot water heating coil complete with three port valve and actuator. The CHP will be controlled to operate as the lead source of heat for the main pool hall and pool water heating system, during the main operating hours of the leisure centre. The Contractor must visit the site to offer a price for supplying and installing the CHP unit. It is proposed that the unit is located adjacent to the boiler house at ground level. The contractor / installer is responsible for all mechanical, electrical and civil works necessary to enable the proper installation of the CHP unit. The cost of any specialist equipment (lifting or other) and or subcontracts are to be included in the suppler / installers tender. It is envisaged that there will be no unwanted electrical loading and therefore no export of electricity onto the national electrical grid. The thermal power generated will heat the adjacent space heating manifold and work as the lead supplier of hot water to the space heating circuit. The supplier installer must ensure that the CHP plant controls work with the existing boiler controls, BMS, electrical controls and setup. This tender was awarded to Temp Tech Ltd, Unit 9, Childers Road Ind Estate, Limerick
