Tender description

The Hot Isostatic Press will be operated and used by Swansea University to support the ASTUTE 2020 operation. This Invitation to Tender comprises a Hot Isostatic Press (HIP). Warranty and services included in the tender will refer to 30.6.2020. The equipment is required to enable the study of the conditions required for post processing of Additive Layer Manufactured (ALM) components for a range of materials. Investigations will be carried out to determine the effect of HIP process parameters on material properties, including density, ultimate tensile strength and yield stress. The College of Engineering at Swansea University is leading this Operation, which also involves Cardiff University, Aberystwyth University and University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
