Library Management System for National Assembly for Wales

Tender description

The National Assembly for Wales is inviting expression of interest from suitably qualified bidders for the replacement of it's Library Management System. The increasing complexity of the information world means that, now more than ever, the Library needs a modern and effective systems to meet the increasing demands of the Assembly Members, staff of the Assembly and the general public. The objective is to have awarded the contract for the replacement Library Management System by December 2016 to allow for seamless transfer from current to new contract. The proposed scope of the service has been identified as: The provision of a cloud-based, hosted Library Management System for the National Assembly for Wales. This includes; • A cloud-based supplier hosted system with a robust infrastructure adhering to recognised security standards; • Support for the management of print and electronic resources; • Migration, conversion and provision of bibliographic data from the existing library management system; • A cataloguing / metadata management module; • A circulation / fulfilment module; • A fully bilingual English and Welsh language OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) or Discovery layer which can be made available to users on the internal ICT network; • A digital asset management module which will store, index and provide access to electronic Assembly publications via the OPAC | Discovery layer; • Reporting and audit functions; • Interoperability with existing systems and ICT infrastructure; • Provision of on-going support and upgrades • Option to provide acquisitions and serials modules
