Ringing Roger Upland Path Construction

Tender description

Invitation to tender for path repair works at Ringing Roger, above Grindsbrook Clough, Edale. The work required consists of approximately 70 metres of stone pitching, with associated drainage and landscaping covering an overall area of around 700 square metres (the Works). The ground currently consists of a steep slope and erosion scar across SSSI heather moorland. The finished work should provide a sustainable path, in-keeping with the surrounding moorland, with landscaped and restored ground to the sides. Please note that the tender required will include the weighing and flying to site by helicopter of all materials, the proposed method of construction, details of equipment required for carrying out the work and proposed timescales. Please include these details with your tender of itemised costs. The work will be of high public profile (the funds for the work were raised by public donation) and the work site is highly sensitive in terms of ecology and landscape impact. We will therefore be requiring evidence of previous work of this kind to ensure the contractor has sufficient experience of upland path construction in such an environment. Therefore, please include in your tender at least two references and a portfolio of previous similar path construction work you have completed
