Tender description
Contractors are required for the design and construction of Lots 1 to 5 for the proposed Cultural and Education District Development at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The design and construction of a 15-storey building is required, set over 32 000 m2 GIA with a typical floor to ceiling height of 4,5m; containing 5 lecture rooms, a gallery, workshops, studio space, library and learning environments, academic teaching space and associated ancillary and circulation space. A large proportion of retail provision is also located within the demise, under the podium at waterfront level. It is presently envisaged that the shell and core will be procured by the LLDC with fit-out being procured separately by UAL. The design and construction of a 7-storey building set over 18 500 m2 GIA is required, with ceiling heights of up to 6m in the galleries; containing a temporary exhibition, 3 gallery spaces and associated ancillary and circulation space. It is presently envisaged that the shell and core and circulation and back of house fit-out area will be procured by the LLDC with the gallery fit-out being procured separately by the V&A. Sadler's Wells: A 5-storey theatre building set over 7 500 m2 GIA; comprising 550-seat auditorium, 6 dance studios and associated ancillary and circulation space. Museum 2: The design and construction of a building consisting of 3 floors of gallery space (8m floor to floor), 2 floors of accommodation (4m floor to floor) and final floor of roof top plant (6m). It is designed with the circulation cores (stairs and lifts) placed at the edge of the rectangular floors. This creates flexible floor plates suitable for gallery use. At the higher levels, external terraces are provided. It is presently envisaged that the shell and core and circulation and back of house fit-out area will be procured by the LLDC with the gallery fit-out being procured separately by others. Marshgate development consists of an 8-10 storey building set over 33 500 m2 GIA containing Major Academic Facilities including approximately 35 % specialist space (e.g. laboratory, workshop, catering, large event space, lecture theatre, museum) and 65 % standard space (e.g. teaching and seminar, office, library, light laboratory, light workshop). The typical specialist space floor to ceiling height is 4,5m with an enhanced ground floor height of 5,5m. The standard space floor to ceiling height is 4m. Lot 4 consists of construction of shell and core and public realm will be procured and delivered by LLDC. It is presently envisaged that the fit-out will be the responsibility of UCL and procured separately. Pool Street development consists of 2 buildings 17 and 14 storeys and 2 storey podium set over 16 500 m2 GIA containing Multi Use Facilities, 12 500 m2 GIA of student and staff accommodation providing 400 bed space and 4 000 m2 academic space and may additionally include 1 000 m2 basement space. The typical accommodation floor to ceiling height is 3m with academic floor to ceiling height of 4,5m and an enhanced ground floor height of 5,5m. The typical floor to ceiling height of basement space is 4,5m. It is presently envisaged that Lot 5 will be the responsibility of UCL and will be procured separately.
