Contract for the Provision of Water Hygiene Services

Tender description

This Specification details the service requirements of a three year contract for the supply of water hygiene services for a range of Council buildings and facilities, including Community Centres and other operational buildings and facilities. The council recognises and accepts its responsibility as a building owner and the duty of care placed on it by legislation and takes all reasonably practicable steps to ensure that the buildings under its direct control are managed and operated to prevent the exposure of employees, visitors or members of the public to harmful levels of the legionella bacteria. To achieve this, the council, through its management structure, has allocated specific responsibilities and functions to designated employees to manage and control the risk. Risk assessments are in place for the council's properties and monitoring arrangements are in place through an existing water hygiene contract. This contract is now due for renewal. Contractors are invited to submit quotations for the supply of water hygiene services to various council owned properties as detailed in this Specification and Conditions of Contract. The Contractor is to allow for carrying out water hygiene services as specified and in accordance with the HSE's Legionnaires' disease - The control of Legionella bacteria in water systems - Approved Code of Practice and Guidance (ACoP L8) and all other relevant guidance and British Standards. This Specification should be read in conjunction with the Conditions of Contract.
