Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector capacity development service

Tender description

London Borough of Waltham Forest is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced provider/ Consortium to provide a service that will build capacity in the local Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector over the next 5 years. The priority of the new service is to enhance the resilience and sustainability of the local VCSE organisations, moving away from direct support towards an ‘enabling’ approach that builds on existing assets. It will focus on increasing the funding coming into borough organisations, increasing volunteering, enhancing contract readiness and consortium readiness, and creating better connections and relationships within and across sectors. The contract to deliver capacity development support will be offered for 3 years in the first instance, with the option to extend for a further 2 years dependent on meeting performance goals. Total contract value is £750,000 over 5 years. We expect that this will be ‘front loaded’, offering a larger sum in the first 2-3 years, with accordingly lower sums available in years 4 and 5.
