Transport of Mobile Laser Laboratory

Tender description

The requirement NPL require a logistics company to move a large, laser laboratory on a trailer to destinations in the UK, US and mainland Europe. Tenderers should have a background in international logistics and be able to provide a driver with a cab unit for several weeks at a time. The driver would be required to move the laboratory to sites, then stay with the cab and manoeuvre the trailer several times each day around the location before returning the laboratory to Teddington. The driver may be away with the facility for several weeks at a time. The sites would include refineries and other harsh environments. The driver would receive health and safety training for each site as required and must comply with all local safety requirements. The contractor would make all in country and out of country logistic arrangements including carnets, booking transporters and employing overseas drivers where required.
