Tender description

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is seeking a supplier to provide satellite communication solutions on a temporary need basis. We are looking to establish Framework Agreements that will offer a range of satellite phones and portable terminals, available for short and/or long term hire. Service functionality should include some or all the following: Voice Calls, Fax, SMS (Short Messages Services), VMS (Voice Messages Services) and data exchange via Broadband and ISDN. A variety of accessories will be expected to be offered as standard. The BBC’s requirement will vary from small ad-hoc orders through to large volumes at times where for example there is greater demand for news coverage abroad. All equipment should be ready to use on delivery thus accompanied with the appropriate service airtime/SIM for the country of intended usage. In the case of BGANs or equivalent the BBC will require some SIMs' to be activated by either Stratos or Ego; both of whom provide a Virtual Private Network (VPN) into BBC Television Centre, London, W12. A range of rapid delivery solutions will be expected with next day delivery as a standard offering. A same day delivery option must be provided to the following locations: BBC Television Centre, London, W12 and London Heathrow Airport.
