Tender description

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has a responsibility to protect life and prevent the destruction of property. Members can be called onto restore public order and may become the target of rioters armed with various weapons and missiles including petrol bombs. PSNI has a duty of care to provide items of personal protective equipment appropriate to the needs of the officer — that would include Limb Protection items. PSNI require all products to work effectively in conjunction with the others. It is therefore considered imperative that all products are purchased from 1 supplier. As it is unlikely that suppliers will submit individual components for evaluation, it has been agreed that tenderers must therefore provide all items on the product list. All products must be designed to be used by male and female officers and appropriate to the size range detailed within the specification. Suppliers must have the ability to produce made to measure items for those outside the standard size range.
