British Embassy Prague: Roof Replacement Project

Tender description

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) is seeking suitably experienced contractors to tender for the re-roofing works to the British Embassy, Prague. The works are for the full replacement of the roof coverings, alterations to the gutters including heat tracing, snow ties, some structural modifications within the rafters, installation of insulation to some areas. The work will be carried out in phases. The contractor will need to be very proficient in health and safety; in particular working at height and provide secure scaffolding. The contractor will also need to provide adequate protection for the roof against weather during the works. Prague is a world heritage site and the particular feature which distinguishes it as this is the roof-scape, therefore the roof coverings must be replaced strictly in accordance with the municipal heritage authorities’ requirements (utilising the Prejzy tiles system).
