Summary of the work You'll work as part of an agile team looking to replace a number of old systems with a shared service. You'll work closely with the Product Owner, to understand current systems and user requirements and help to the team in how to write, and get the most, from user stories. Specialist role Business analyst Expected Contract Length 3month initally, with scope to extend if project progresses Latest start date 20/06/2016 Who Speclialist Work With Project Manager, Product Owner, Architects, Business Design Team, Development Team, External and Internal Users across the education sector What Specialists Work On We are looking for a Business Analyst to support the feasibility stage of the Data Exchange project; looking to replace some 5-10 systems with a single new shared service. The BA will work closely with the Product Owner to understand current systems and user needs for the new service; and help to coach the team - especially internal BAs - in how to write, evolve and get the most from user stories. Skills & Experience • Hands on experience of gathering user requirements from a wide range of stakeholders (15) • Proven experience of converting requirements into user stories (15) • Proven experience of analysing existing systems and business processes and documenting these (10) • Experience of developing TOMs (5) • Able to act as the SME on user story production within the project team (5) Nice to Haves • Experience of coaching, mentoring and, where required, leading other BAs (4) • Experience of improving business processes in relation to the transfer of data between IT systems (3) • Experience of the education sector (3) Work Location It is expected that the majority of time will be spent at DfE offices in London, but with travel to other sites (notably Coventry, Sheffield and Darlington) and other UK travel as required to support understanding of user needs Working Arrangments The specialist is expected to work a professional day, 5 days a week and be available on client site, working alongside the project team, for the majority of this time. How many applications we can submit for this tender or do we just get one chance? We understand the CVs need to be sent at later stage once the YES/NO application is submitted. CCS have responded as follows: "The tool allows a supplier to only submit one applicant per role. They should submit their best candidate". Once we have shortlisted suppliers we will evaluate the supplier as to how they can best fulfil our requirement. 2. What are TOMs? Target Operating Model 3. Are you able to specify the maximum day rate for the opportunity? We are content to let the market guide us and are interested to find the right service provider. It should be noted that cost is part of the evaluation criteria, and could inform the short listing in the event that we have a number of tenders to consider. 4. Could you please comment on whether in fulfilling this specialist role we would be precluded from fulfilling other specialist roles in relation to this programme of work Fulfilling this role would not preclude other involvement in this project. 5.
