Tender description

The NHS eProcurement Strategy was published by the Department of Health in May 2014 and compliance with the strategy by NHS trusts was mandated as a requirement of the NHS Standard Contract. Additionally, the NHS Terms and Conditions for the Supply of Goods and the Provision of Services have been amended to include a requirement on suppliers to place master product data and associated attributes into a GS1 GDSN certified data-pool. Services are required to extract these data from the GDSN data-pools and to make them available to NHS trusts. The contracting authority is seeking to appoint a supplier or suppliers which can provide product master data management services to any or all of the following: — Any NHS Trust; — Any other NHS entity; and — Any government department agency or other statutory body and/or any private sector health care provider of NHS funded care. Full details of those contracting authorities who may be able to use the services procured by the contracting authority will be set out in the Contract Notice. Any final contract(s) may feature multiple procurements/lots, but in-scope options include (but are not limited to): 1) Single national solution for use by all trusts; 2) Multi-vendor solution, trusts to select from a framework; 3) Modular solution with single vendor of each module, trusts to use any or all modular providers as befits their local requirement; 4) Modular solution with multi vendors of each module, trusts to select from framework for any or all modules as befits local requirement.
