Tender description

There are 34 Best Available Technique (BAT) Reference documents (BREFs) covering different industrial sectors (including e.g. chemicals, farming and energy) that are due to be reviewed at EU-level by 2020. Each BREF sets mandatory emissions levels and performance techniques that industry must comply with under the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED). The Authority wishes to develop a framework/methodology for assessing the economic (i.e. cost to industry) and environmental (benefits) impacts of the BREFs, to help inform the UK negotiating position on each BREF. Following the development of the framework for assessment, the project will also carry through the assessment of impacts (costs and benefits) for a number of priority BREF each year.
