Tender description

This tender is for a service which will receive calls from the public, collect reported strays, deliver them to the kennels, to assist in repatriating them with their owners (at the owner's expense) and to regularly and comprehensively report back on performance. The authority has a statutory duty under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to ensure that stray dogs are promptly collected so that the general public are kept safe from dog attack. Dogs can either be repatriated with their owners or housed for up to seven days in kennels pending a decision to either try and re-home them or alternatively to destroy them.
