N61 Coolteige (Phase 1) Road Project - Detailed Ground Investigation Contract

Tender description

Roscommon County Council is planning for the construction of the N61 Coolteige Phase 1 Road Realignment from the periphery of Roscommon town traveling on a northerly direction and tie-in into the existing N61 in the townland of Munsborough. The overall length of the N61 route under consideration is approximately 2.5km. The scope of the works envisaged under this detailed ground investigation contract is as follows: - (a) Cable percussion (Shell & Auger) boreholes (200 mm minimum diameter), with sampling and in-situ testing; (b) Vertical open hole rotary drilling (75 mm minimum diameter); (c) Trial pits, sampling and in-situ testing. (d) Rock coring (75 mm minimum diameter core), proving rock to a specified depth and in-situ testing. (e) Rotary percussive drilling. (f) Water level measurement at selected exploratory holes. (g) DPH probes and in-situ vane shear testing. (h) Slit trench, some with sampling and in-situ testing (i) Detailed borehole, coring, trial pit and inspection pit logs as described in BS5930 and the specification. (j) Laboratory testing of soil samples for engineering properties, behaviour and suitability. (k) Laboratory testing of rock samples for engineering properties, behaviour and suitability. (l) Preparation of Descriptive report with summary of the ground conditions and parameters in accordance with BS5930:1999+A2:2010 (Clauses 47.2 & 47.3) and the specification. (m) Preparation of AGS digital data. (n) Liaison with Local Authorities, landowners and other public and private bodies as necessary.
