Tender description

Welsh Water has a requirement for the replacement of its Data Provision Loggers (used for leakage and network monitoring, clean and waste) and PRV Controllers (used for control and network management) assets for leakage control and network management purposes. The new agreement will supply existing units. DCC will adopt a replace on failure strategy equipment, The new contract provider's equipment will be used to replace failed equipment in the first instance, as well as target an asset age as a proactive replacement strategy. The new product supplier will be required to support externally hosted data transfer protocols. This means that data will be hosted off-site at the suppliers' premises, and transferred every 30 minutes to DCWW servers. This data will be hosted in the DCWW internal servers for onward processing. The standard DCC file format for data transfer will be provided for suppliers to comply with, via FTP with the required IT security protocols. A future internal hosted data server is being progressed by DCC, however the time line of this expects to deliver in 2017/18, as such the requirement for data transfer services may be moved in house once capability has been achieved. To enable this, product and support software will need to be compatible for this type of transition in data hosting. Welsh Water will also have a require for field management support (installation, maintenance, site visits) for its Waste requirement.
