The Department for Transport is looking to scope the market to identify potential suppliers who may be able to deliver the following research service: As part of its ongoing work to support the transition to Ultra Low Emission Vehicles the Department for Transport needs to understand how the costs of battery production are evolving. Therefore we are issuing a request for information on what sources of data on electric vehicle battery costs are available. We need to understand not just the cost of battery cells used in electric vehicles, but the full cost of assembled battery packs: both for Battery Electric Vehicles and Plug-in Hybrid EVs. It is important for us to have an up-to-date reflection of the current market, as well as projections. Up-to-date and accurate information on battery costs is essential to inform the department’s cost benefit analyses of Ultra Low Emission Vehicle policy.
