Tender description
This framework is for the provision of vehicle body work repair services for Leeds City Council's fleet of vehicles all of which could be drivable or non drivable. Contractors appointed onto the framework will be asked to provide tenders for each piece of work as a secondary call for competition. There are 2 lots. Lot 1 consists of light vehicles up to and including 3,5 t in weight. Lot 2 consists of heavy vehicles in excess of 3,5 t in weight. Tenderers can apply for 1 or both lots. All repair works under the framework will be awarded after a mini competition exercise is concluded for the defined service requirement. The winning contractor will be undertaking repairs to vehicles which are required to perform some of the most critical services on behalf of the Council; including and not limited to, the collection of household waste and the transportation of vulnerable customers, thus the Contractor undertakes to use the utmost care and skill whilst performing the Services required by the Contract Manager. In the year January 2015 to January 2016 the Council required the services to be carried out on 13 heavy vehicles under the current framework for vehicle and bodywork repairs. Historically the maximum number of heavy vehicles requiring service at any 1 time is 2. All repair works under the framework will be awarded after a mini competition exercise is concluded for the defined service requirement. The winning contractor will be undertaking repairs to vehicles which are required to perform some of the most critical services on behalf of the Council; including and not limited to, the collection of household waste and the transportation of vulnerable customers, thus the Contractor undertakes to use the utmost care and skill whilst performing the Services required by the Contract Manager.
