Tender description

The primary goal of EirGrid Group communications is clarity. Research into our brand has indicated that stakeholders and the public don’t fully understand what we do, nor appreciate the benefits our work brings to individuals, businesses and the wider community. To meet this aim, we want our communications to be widely accessible. Whilst we are a group of organisations with a very high degree of expertise, we need to explain what we do in ways that are easy to understand, so the benefits of our work are easy to appreciate. We have worked with experts in plain English to assist us in making our communications more accessible. Specialist training has also been provided to our employees. EirGrid Group has also introduced a style guide to ensure consistent communications. We are now seeking to work with a plain English consultant to help implement this new approach. It is expected approximately 12 major pieces of work will require editing annually, along with a number of smaller jobs which will occur throughout the year. EirGrid Group intends to establish a single vendor framework agreement for the provision of editorial, consultancy and advice services relating to plain English. The contract will be awarded for a period of one year with an option to extend for up to a further 24 months, subject to the satisfactory performance of the successful Tenderer.
