NHS National Services Scotland is considering a procurement for Data Warehouse and Big Data Services. This procurement has been driven by the need to manage the rapidly growing volume, complexity and velocity of information across NSS and NHS Boards coupled with users' increasing expectations for the ease of use and speed. NHS NSS has a mature Data Warehouse solution as part of its Business Intelligence strategy. The Data Warehouse integrates clinical and non-clinical data sets within one secure, cleansed and validated data repository. This data continues to grow as new data is added to existing data marts, and new data marts are developed. The objective of this procurement is to implement a new platform for the existing Data Warehouse and to provide a platform for the integration of Big Data from a variety of internal and external sources (e.g. social media, open data, image data, sensor data, machine data, etc).
