NHS National Services Scotland is considering a procurement for a Data Virtualisation Platform. This requirement has been driven by the need to manage the rapidly growing volume, complexity and velocity of information across NSS and the wider NHS and to enable agility in data integration. This is coupled with users' increasing expectations for the ease of use and speed at which they can turn data into valuable assets for information analysis. The objective of this procurement is to implement a Data Virtualisation Platform to allow us to integrate data across many forms of structured and unstructured data, held internally and externally, increasing in variety, volume and velocity. The Data Virtualisation Platform will support the overall strategy of implementing a Logical Data Warehouse for the provisioning of data for analytical purposes as detailed in the diagram in the attached Market Sounding Questionnaire.
