Tender description
Mid Devon District Council is responsible for licensing Hackney Carriage and Private Hire vehicles. As of January 2016 the number of vehicles licensed was 114. Under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 the authority is able to require vehicles to be inspected and tested to ensure they are fit for use. The primary purpose of the testing is to ensure vehicles are safe and suitable for the public. As the authority does not have its own testing facilities it is necessary to appoint authorised garages to conduct these tests on its behalf. This invitation is therefore to invite tenders for suitably qualified and equipped garages to undertake vehicle inspections on behalf of the Council Keywords: Taxi, MOT, Garage
