Construction structures and materials; auxiliary products to construction (except electric apparatus)

Tender description

Leicestershire County Council (the Council) is seeking to identify and appoint a single Supplier of building and civil engineering materials to its highway maintenance and improvements organisation. The Council's objective is to minimise the amount of stock it holds in its own stores by working closely with a supply partner. This will be achieved by daily ‘just in time’ deliveries to the stores facilities at Croft and Mountsorrel Depots and to various construction sites around the County, as required. The supply chain partner will be expected to work in partnership with the Highway's Procurement Team to act as a broker and be proactive in proposing purchasing solutions for materials not covered by the Contract schedules. The Contract will be awarded for a period of three years with further discreet extensions of one year up to a maximum contract period of five years. The anticipated contract value per year is estimated at GBP 400-600k. The Contract shall be performed under the terms and conditions of the NEC 3 Supply Contract (April 2013) published by Thomas Telford Limited.
