The Institute of Technology, Tralee and Cork Institute of Technology are merging to create the Munster Technological University (MTU). MTU will be a flagship University, leading and defining what it means to be a technological university. At its core it will be wholly responsive to its client groups in relation to all aspects of its organisation and especially through its three key pillars of activity: education; research and engagement. MTU sees these as an interrelated set of activities that will collectively make a significant contribution to individuals, communities and regional/national development. This is an exciting time for higher education institutes. The creation of Technological Universities in Ireland is the first such prospect since 1989. The MTU project has progressed to the final stage of the process towards Technological University Designation. 2.2 Contract Brief At this stage of the process we wish to refine our mission vision. Specifically we are looking to achieve: • Greater visibility of overall MTU project among all stakeholders • Greater support for and engagement with the vision and benefits of the MTU among all stakeholders We require the assistance of a suitable provider/supplier to assist us with the following tasks: • Design an initial representation of the mission, vision, rationale and benefits of the MTU. • Facilitate a process of engagement to socialise the MTU mission and vision, utilising visual harvesting, facilitation and representation to capture and embrace the views of stakeholders. • Gather the learning from the engagement process and produce a compelling visual and textual representation of the mission, vision, rationale and benefits of the MTU.
