Research delivered by Reaseheath College through the RDPE Cheshire Dairy Monitor Farm, demonstrated how applying Lean Management principles and tools to farm management significantly improved profits through efficiency gains. The research also demonstrated the effectiveness of lean total productive management techniques for the sustainable productivity of soils for agricultural production. Sustainable within this context is defined as land management and its use whereby the productive capacity of the soil from one production period to the next does not decrease. The work will take place at Reaseheath College and across 4 other farms in Cheshire who are at various stages of the LEAN management process.
