Tender description

This PIN is being issued by the Education Funding Agency (‘EFA’) on behalf of the Department for Education (‘DfE’) to engage with the market and gather information to inform a future tendering exercise for the appointment of contractors to provide standardised building solutions for schools and educational facilities. Suppliers who are interested in participating in this exercise should register their interest by email to PSBP2.TA@education.gsi.gov.uk no later than 11.4.2016. Further details of the proposed procurement shall be emailed out to them. The EFA is intending to hold a supplier engagement event in London in the w/c 18.4.2016 to discuss initial thoughts for the proposed procurement and registered suppliers will be provided with details of this in due course. See the Sections II.2.4) and VI.3) of this notice for further details of the proposed procurement. The final details of the structure of the proposed procurement has not been decided but it is envisaged that the schools subject to the procurement will be split into 3 batches and up to 2 contractors will be appointed for each batch. It is intended that the procurement vehicle will be used to deliver projects funded by Priority School Building Programme 2 (‘PSBP2’) but may also be used for the delivery of other EFA's capital programmes, including (but not limited to) free schools, university technical colleges (‘UTCs’), studio schools, Academies Capital Maintenance Funded schemes, basic needs and potentially other programmes. The EFA is likely to be the main client of the proposed procurement although it is envisaged that this will be made available to other responsible bodes in the education sector, for example Local Authorities, academy trusts and other educational institutions/bodies.
