Medway Council is tendering for the service operation of the Chatham Waterfront Bus Station Information Centre. The contract duration will be for a period of 2 years with an option to extend for a further 2. The Chatham Waterfront Bus Station Information Centre (CWBSIC) is the central hub of Medway's main bus interchange, the Waterfront Bus Station. As such the CWBSIC plays a fundamental role in promoting bus travel in Medway, providing residents of Medway and those visiting Medway with information on all travel services in the area, and providing a convenient facility for purchasing bus tickets. Over the next five years a number of development schemes designed to increase economic growth in Chatham Town Centre are being undertaken by the Council. This includes a project to improve pedestrian routes between the Waterfront Bus Station and Chatham Railway Station, as well as key improvements to Chatham Town Centre's public realm close to the Bus Station. The CWBSIC will therefore be a key factor in the success of these projects and will be vital in ensuring sustainable transport is promoted as a part of Medway's on-going economic and social development.
